What To Say In A First Message Online Dating. What do you say to sound keen- but not appear over-clingy?

Are you enjoying being on a dating site? Do two things: 5 online dating examples: say in all the very best first message examples. There are two things you can do in this situation Whether youve got a dilemma about your first date, reading a single number. Things To Say On A Dating.

This post will probably help you feel more comfortable when introducing yourself to your first message.

A Great First Message: Netspeak

We recommend you that Tone down the Netspeak, with the words (if you can call them that) ur, r, u, ya, cant, hit, really, luv, and wat, are the top nine worst words to use in an opening message. Netspeak, bad grammar, is the main culprit when it comes to unsuccessful first message.

But, people like a sense of humor, and you need to be casual to convey genuine laughter. “haha” (45% reply rate) and lol (41%) both turned out to be quite good for the sender. Interesting exceptions to the “hehe” was also a successful word, but much less so (33%). Scientifically, this is because it’s a little evil sounding, while still effective tends to sound a bit like a supervillain. It’s okay to laugh, but keep the rest of your message grammatical and punctuated.

Tip: Messages that start off with Hello or Hi come across a run of the mill and perhaps a bit boring. So while you should avoid using netspeak too much, using slang or an unusual greeting is considered a great move. You could always spruce it up a bit and go with a foreign greeting, but make sure you know what it means.

A Great First Message: Interests

Noticing what I have in common with a girl, then starting a conversation about it. While everybody enjoys compliments on their looks, focusing too much on physical looks seems to imply shallowness. Messages using words like beautiful and sexy will more often than not end up getting deleted immediately. Better to focus on interests, or even better, common interests.

The best first messages show us that you’re interested in who we are – not what we look like. Talking about your own interests can give the recipient a good idea of what you are like. It seems this is almost as important as talking about their interests so using any word that describes an interest or hobby is great, once your hobby isn’t too weird.

For example:

“You sound like a pretty interesting person, so I thought I would shoot you a message. Have you ever read the Game of Thrones books?Since you like the show, you will probably like those. What kind of fiction do you normally go for? Or all kinds?”

He gives a good attention to complement common interests and personality – not looks, while he also takes into account next point that I am gonna mention it.

A Great First Message: Question

Nothing starts a conversation quicker than a question. So do yourself a huge favor and simply ask one. And just like an ad agency makes a call to action, you can too, by simply asking about an interest or even suggesting a dinner date. Our subconscious tells us that it’s rude not to answer a question so your chances are increased tenfold by just asking.

  • Keep it Simple:Some guys make the mistake of firing off a long list of questions about a whole range of topics. Stick with one or two low-pressure questions that make it easy for us to respond quickly because we’re interested.
  • Keep it Short:Your first message should make a simple introduction, express your interest in her profile, ask one or two long-game questions about things you share in common, and then simply sign-off with your name. A couple of lines or a paragraph or two is great.

Men Fail Because Of This…

Most men take the easy approach and write messages like this:

Approaches like this show a complete lack of effort and never work. I’ve covered this in a previous blog post, What Are First Message Blunders To Women On Dating Sites?

The problem is so bad, some women tell you to put some effort into your messages:

Dating sites confirm using one-word opening messages don’t work. OkCupid found if you write 'hey' women will ignore you 84% of the time.

However, men fail to grasp this concept and instead continue to send horrible opening messages. There’s a better approach to creating the perfect first message to a girl. Sure, it takes more effort but the rewards are huge.

Message

Duh! I shouldn’t even have to tell you this but the key to a good first message to a girl is to read her dating profile. Focus on her text section. Avoid commenting on her photos because most guys take that approach.

The idea is to read her dating profile so your message will center on things she writes about herself.

As you read her profile look for things you can use to start conversations. Anything she shares in her text section is fair game. Focus on her actual text section because it shows two things:

What Do You Say In First Message On A Dating Site Like

1. You took the time to get to know her.
2. You’re aren’t all about her looks.

For example, I enjoy the outdoors, enjoy wine/drinks, cooking, and the beach to name a few things. If a woman shares she enjoys any of these hobbies on her dating profile I will use one of these topics to start the conversation.

You can look for specific words to base your first message on. In the example below, I noticed the word 'books' and would use that as a conversation starter because I also enjoy reading books.

Always keep your eyes open for hobbies/passions/interests you share with the woman whose profile you’re reading. You only need one or two for your message.

Creating the first message to a girl is simple; what you’re going to do is simply ask questions about one or two things you identified in step 2.

If she shares her name start your message by addressing her by her first name. You’re strangers so you don’t want to jump into the conversation. It’s better to address her by her name.

Next, write a few sentences asking questions and sharing a little bit about yourself as well. When you ask a woman a question about something and then share something about yourself she’ll be more likely to respond because you’ve shared information about yourself regarding the question you just asked.

So, if you see a woman enjoys traveling you can use that as a conversation starter and share your last travel adventure or tell her where you plan on going next.

Maybe you read a profile and the woman shares she enjoys going to museums. If you enjoy museums as well, bring up the last exhibit you went to. Make sense?

This is short and simple. Make sure you don’t have any spelling errors. Women actually appreciate a guy who can spell. I once had a woman respond to my message because I spelled “a lot” correctly.

This isn’t the time for texting lingo either. Your message is an indication of your intellect so you don’t want to appear uneducated.

Grammar and spelling apply not only to your messages but to your dating profile. The majority of women will look at your dating profile after they read your message so, make sure you’re dating profile doesn’t have any spelling errors either. I covered the importance of this in another blog post; Why Grammar Is Critical In Your Dating Profile About Me Section.

OK, go ahead and fire off your message. If you did it right she’ll respond. If not, it wasn’t meant to be.

It’s a numbers game buddy. You can’t get 100% of the women you email to respond but, and this is important, when you put in a little effort you’ll do much better than a guy who writes “Hey” or comments on photos.
